Deadpool is the best and most marketable character of this type in years. Maybe ever.

I could see Reynolds' portrayal of Deadpool becoming something of a pop culture icon. The devil-may-care attitude towards the format (4th wall breaking, acknowledgement of being a comic book character) means this doesn't need to fit the classic two-hour movie format. Even tho SNL won't happen, I could see his Twitter handle taking off, maybe YouTube shorts, or an HBO/Netflix etc series. This is just the beginning for Deadpool
