Just did a spine test for the first time, and a little confused by the results. Can someone with more experience help me out?

Target Recurve

Hi everyone,

So as the title says, I just did a spine test and am kind of confused now. Here is the background info. I am shooting a 45# Samick Sage. I have an about 29" draw so I'm probably actually pulling something like 47-48#. When I bought the bow it had 35# limbs and I recently upgraded them to 45#. I figured it was a good time to get a set of decent arrows, and I got a spine test kit from 3 Rivers, along with a point test kit.

Now, this bow came with three 500 spine fletched carbon arrows with 125 grain points. These shoot fairly consistently straight off the new limbs, so I figured I was going to be somewhere in that neighborhood. In fact I almost just decided to order arrows in that spine and go for it. But I decided to be cautious and get the test kit in the end.

So the kit came with 600, 500 and 400 spined shafts, and 100, 125, 145, 200 and 250 grain field points. I shot from 8-10 yards, as specified by the instructions from 3 Rivers. I can post my full results / shot count if needed, but suffice it to say almost every shot, with every combination of shaft and point, kicked the nock left to some degree. The only combination that produced any significant amount of straight shots was the 400 spine + 100 grain point, and it was almost 50/50 straight shots vs left / right nock (although the nock swing was less dramatic than in other combinations). It was 10 straight shots, 6 slightly left and 2 or 3 slightly right. This was the only combination at all that produced any right nock shots.

So I don't have a 340 or 300 spine shaft to test. Should I get them? Or is something very wrong with my results here? Maybe I should just buy some 400 spine arrows and 100 grain points? What do you folks think? The thing that confuses me most is the results vs. my experience with the 500/125 arrows I already have.
