Upgrading Laptop Ram worth it ?

Recently upgraded to a 240Gb SSD and it really breathes new life into my laptop. Its roughly 8 years old but can still hold it's own more or less.

It's sitting at 4gb of ram (200 pin sodimm 2x2gb)

Since I'm looking to extend it's life by a bit is it worth spending the ~$140 CAD for new memory sticks ? How noticeable would the jump be from 4gb to 8gb ?

Things I do: Lightroom, light gaming, browsing, light downloads.

Laptop is: HP DV5-1155ee with the geforce 9600gt m running windows 10 64bit.
