FTC Internship

First a little background information. I am currently a 1L at a T1 Law School with a strong presence in the region. I'm interested in practicing business law, though I haven't narrowed my focus down to which specific type yet. I have a couple questions regarding FTC internships. 1. Do you need a background in finance or business to be competitive for these? (Poly Sci major). 2. Are these looked favorably during OCI's or general interviews with firms? 3. Anything specifically I should emphasize in my cover letter? Any other information or advice regarding these would be much appreciated.
