Question about HVAC

I have a Lennox G40DF(X) that is throwing a diagnostic code starting that the primary switch is open. Symptoms are the ignitor nor burners kick on... The fan alone does. Filters are clean. Jumping the primary results in the burners kicking on and everything functioning as normal. Is this a symptom of a bigger problem or could it just be the primary?
