Just returned to Hearthstone

I played hearthstone in the beta, I didn't really have the time to enjoy it because of other games (mainly world of warcraft) but now that I wont be playing WoW until Legion, what is a good rank to get to this season? I'm already at 17 but I feel like I can improve any tips for a newbie?
