NOBLX and out-network lab initiated from an in-network provider
My understanding is that NOBLX means that any lab or diagnostic procedures (such as blood work) can be paid as in-network as long as the ordering physician is in-network.
- Is this specific to a plan or do plans "typically" have this?
- Do insurance companies requires their contracted in-network providers to make reasonable efforts in trying to get lab work done at in-network labs?
- If I had lab work done at a lab that was in-network in other plans from the same insurance company but just not for my plan, what recourse do I have for the bills from the "out-network" lab?
