[EVENT] Establishing the Portuguese Federation

Since the 16th century, a dream has been shared by all Portuguese leaders - a dream to create a nation not contained to a single continent but stretching all over the world. Pluricontinentalism - the idea to build country with land separated geographically yet equal in actuality. Ever since I took office for the people of Portugal, I hypothesized a multiracial and multicultural empire of our own, in which the different people could coexist. In fact, the entire notion of overseas provinces, not colonies, was generally accepted by past Portuguese rulers before anyone else. That is why it is the duty of Portugal to lead the way for the colonial powers of today by making a great step forward. As of January 1948, the Portuguese Federation will be established.

What this entails is equal representation and equal treatment for the following territories not currently in the official Portuguese mainland:

• Cabo Verde

• São Tomé and Príncipe

• Guinea-Bissau

• Daman, Daman and Diu

• Goa

• East Timor

For now, Angola and Mozambique will remain at colony status.
