Seemingly out of the blue, my PC gets very high ping in any multiplayer game I try.
Ever since a couple weeks ago, any multiplayer game I play has spikes of high ping constantly. This entails to rubber-banding me back when I am walking somewhere and other players jittering all over my screen. My ping goes up to around 200 then will go back to ~40. Any game is unplayable and I even get kicked from time to time because of my ping. I know it is not an FPS issue, I have a GTX 970 and games run buttery while offline with bots. I tried contacting my ISP (Comcast) and "Karl" said he unclogged some data on their side and it would return to normal. It didn't. However, I do not think this is a problem with my provider because the computer that is connected to my modem and router gets ~28 download and ~5 upload, which is what we pay for. The computer I game on it up a flight of stairs and uses a PCI-E wifi card to connect to the network. This is where I am having ping troubles.
My router is a Netgear WGR614 v9 and modem is an Arris TM722.

Any help is appreciated.
