Need help restoring an old jointer-planer

Hey everyone,

I'm quite new to woodworking and I have access to the old shop of a woodworker. He left behind a couple of machines and I would like to take advantage of one, a big jointer-planer.

But I would like some advice as how to proceed safely. I wouldn't want to have a blade shoot in my face.

Do you have some general advices for this renovation ?
