[Subreddit Idea] /R/Loseit Hall of Fame
Hey guys,
I was reading some other fitness subreddits and they had a Hall of Fame setup. The purpose of this is to shout out to specific members who have beaten the odds and have achieved their goals.
I was thinking that this may be a fun idea.
Now for the logistics of this, I'm still a little fuzzy on how to go about doing this.
Perhaps have a monthly voting and nominations thread where anyone can nominate (or self nominate) a redditor who has achieved their goal. The point of making this monthly would be to reduce the massive influx of people getting put up on the board :)
Anyway, what do you guys think?
A good idea, or perhaps a little too masturbatory?
Edit #1: An idea was put forward to have each nomination be attached with a quick summary paragraph about what you've acheived, how far you've come, etc. Then any links to the oldest post you have. Also, to avoid having a popular vote which may favour large weight losses instead of smaller achievements, perhaps we can limit the voting to be done by only the mods?
Edit #2: u/funchords has created r/loseit_hall_of_fame as a placeholder incase the mods pick this idea up and run with it. Also, another idea was put forward to review the highest voted threads for that month for nominations. Perhaps not just as a personal goal mention, but a r/loseit contribution mention. Keep the ideas coming everyone :)
