Is it possible to trade resources that are being traded to you?

Just got a deal where I've been given 8 iron for 90 turns, but whenever I try to trade iron with someone else it caps out at my own iron income (4).

If I'm being traded this iron for 90 turns why can I not trade the iron to someone else for gold?
