Upgrade by update manager from 17 to 17.3 failed

Updated 17 today, thinking I would get to 17.3. I updated the update manager first. Lots of stuff was updated, but I am still at Linux 17. In December a release announcement expected that soon this would be possible.
I am now also worried that I may have updated with corrupted modules due to the site hack.
