[ROLEPLAY] Smite Down the Enemy at the Gates
#November 12, 1017
##3:00 AM, Vila Paris Hotel, Bucharest, Romania
Liana threw off her uniform and tossed it into a plastic bag, she looked at herself in the mirror, drips of blood still decorated her neck and she had a streak of dried blood on her cheek. She only got in because Sebastian did all the talking at the check in desk. She threw off her bra and slipped out of her panties when Sebastian stepped in with water and some bread, he tried his best not to stare at Liana as she turned around.
Her breast were small but perky, Sebastian prefered smaller breast so he didn't think anything of their size, she was shaved and well kept. Her skin was somewhat pale and her dark brown hair stood out when she had it in front of her chest. The crimson and brown blotches of blood also stood out on her neck and face.
SEBASTIAN: I uuh... brought some food and water, thought you'd be hungry. You should think of showering too... you should clean up..
LIANA: Thank you... and I.. I'm still so shaken, I don't know if I can shower right now.
SEBASTIAN: Well you won't be able to get out much with all of that blood on you...
He poured Liana a glass of water and handed it to her. Her hands were still shaking but she took a sip and set the glass down as she threw her arms around Sebastian. Her face was covered in tears and her voice was soft as she continued speaking between her sobs.
LIANA: Emil sent some of the guards to my apartment. They... I thought I could trust them...
SEBASTIAN: How'd you get out of there?
LIANA: I hadn't changed so I still had my sidearm. They kicked in my door and I acted quickly, I shot one of the bastards in the head, the other was behind him so his friends limp corpse fell into his arms, he leveled his pistol and fired madly into my apartment, I killed him while he was reloading, I beat him to death with my pistol... I... I couldn't recognize his face afterwards, but I could tell he was one of yours...
SEBASTIAN: That explains all of this blood then... and I'm sorry... I knew Emil had bribed some of my men... you killed two.... the others are still at the Palace...
LIANA: How many do you imagine he bribed?
SEBASTIAN: I'd say he has about four or five more of the guards bribed, but whose to say he doesn't have other goons from other sources... I imagine we are in for a show at the Palaca today..
LIANA: I'll need a new uniform... but... the bodies.....
SEBASTIAN: I'll get you your uniform... Let's get you cleaned up.
Sebastian kissed Liana gently and wiped her tears off her cheek as he picked her up and carried her to the shower. He turned on the hot water and gently set her down leaning her against the shower wall as he got undressed. Liana blushed deeply to the point you wouldn't be able to tell blood was smeared on her cheeks. She threw herself back into Sebastian's arms wrapping her arms around his neck. He picked her up pressing her tightly against the wall as the water from the shower ran off of them. She bit into his shoulder as he began to thrust against her, her tears went from tears of fear to tears of relief, she loved him and she thought she'd be too late when she frantically knocked on his door not six hours ago.
She wrapped her legs around his waist and cried out as she held him tighter. She wanted to tell him she wanted to run off, leave the Palace behind, just hide from Emil, he'd give up on them at some point. She knew he'd never agree to it though. She got side tracked with her thoughts as she felt herself quivering around Sebastian. She let out a moan before finally managing to find her voice.
LIANA: Sebastian... They're going to kill you if you go t-to... the Pal-ace...
SEBASTIAN: I know...
The thrust slowed to a halt as he slipped out and they both collapsed in each others arms on the floor of the shower. The water still streaming out nice and hot, it trickled down Sebastians back and onto Liana. She looked up at him with pleading eyes.
LIANA: I want to run... but I follow your lead...
SEBASTIAN: Funny hearing that from my CO, heh...
LIANA: After this is over... I'm handing command over to you... I can't do this anymore, I'm at the point where I can't hide our relationship.. Emil surely knows too, why else would he target me?... I'm just ready for it to be over...
SEBASTIAN: I'm bringing him down.... he turned my wife against me, though I am to blame as well..
LIANA: No... I pulled you in closer.... you stayed faithful till the end... you just showed me that...
Sebastian thought of what she meant but he quickly understood. He'd never been passionate with Liana, it was just sex when he was with her.... just now it was different though, it felt strange thinking about it right now but honestly nothing was making sense. Sebastian grabbed the soap and lathered Liana's body covering her in suds. Her hands were the hardest part, blood is hard to wash off of ones hands, it sticks with you as a cursed reminder of what you've done. He'd have plenty of blood on his hands soon enough.
Liana lay still as Sebastian manipulated her body, cleaning her as best he could. When he was done he got up and helped Liana on her feet, her legs were still shaking and she held onto him for support. Sebastian cut off the shower and they dried off quickly, Sebastian was running out of time.
Sebastian got dressed in his dress pants and undershirts, he gave his coat to Liana, it was large enough to cover most of her, it fell to her knees and she wrapped it around herself as he shoved his pistol in the back of his pants and headed for the door.
SEBASTIAN: Stay here.... I'll be back with your uniform...
LIANA: Be....be careful...
Sebastian didn't say a word, he was already down the hall and out the door by the time Liana looked up. She let out a sigh and lay in the bed wrapping the coat around her tighter. She prayed he would be safe and that Emil wouldn't send another hit team once he lost contact with his first one.
##5:00 AM, Liana's Apartment, Bucharest, Romania
The hallways to Liana's were bustling with activity. Police had locked the hall down so to get through Sebastian flashed his Gandermarie badge and the officers of course let him cross the tape. "Jesus" is all Sebstian could think as he saw the blood spray on the wall opposite her door. The two corpses still lay where Liana killed them, the man on the bottom still had an arm around his comrade who had a bullet hole dead center of his head. His eyes were rolled back and his finger was still tightly squeezed around the trigger of his gun.
The man on the bottom was beaten to a pulp, blood, brain, skull fractures... all sprawled out and pouring out of his skull. His mouth gaped open, he'd bitten his tongue clean off from the reaction of the first blow. Had you not seen the rest of the bastards body you'd think he was a disformed alien out of a Ridley Scott film.
OFFICER: Sir, are you here to help with the investigation?
SEBASTIAN: I'm simply here to collect evidence, I'm also here to review the security footage.
OFFICER: Collect what you need here, security is on the first floor, just show the check in counter your badge and they'll let you right in. Fucking mess isn't it?
SEBASTIAN: The whole damn thing....
Sebstian stepped over the bodies and looked around the room, bullet holes riddled the wall where Liana was hiding. Her couch was thick enough to stop any from hitting her, it still looked like a decent couch, patch it up and it's good as new. Sebastian ran his finger over the bullet holes in the wall and noticed a light coming through one, he looked down the small hallway and saw the bedroom door.
SEBASTIAN: Someone bring me a duffel bag and some plastic bags.
An officer scrambled over with a duffel bag marked "EVIDENCE" and sebastian instructed he put the shell casings in a bag and put them in the bag. The officer nodded his head and Sebastian slipped into the bedroom and grabbed Liana's spare uniform and stuffed it in the bag before the officer returned.
SEBASTIAN: Thank you, now if you'll excuse me I need to get this over to the security room, need to look over the security footage.
OFFICER: Understood sir, let us know if you find anything.
Sebastian gave a salute as he stepped out with the evidence bag, the bag included all identification papers collected and all papers collected off the deceased men. He approached the check in counter and flashed the badge.
DESK WORKER: Right in here officer, security footage?
SEBASTIAN: Security footage..
He slipped the desk worker a few hundred dollars and looked her sternly in the eyes.
SEBASTIAN: That room was empty, this whole thing was a drug deal gone wrong.
DESK WORKER: Empty room, drug deal,,,, got it.
Sebastian went into the security room and collected the security tapes. The apartment security officer asked what he was doing since he hadn't even watched the tapes yet. Sebstian slipped another few hundred to the security officer.
SEBASTIAN: You were knocked out and don't recall what happened, the cameras were cut off while you were out.
SECURITY OFFICER: Whatever you say boss, I don't care to know what's going on here but I'm more than happy to coo--
SEBASTIAN: You didn't see me.
Sebastian stepped out of the security room and back into the lobby. The officers stopped him and asked about the tapes, the security officer stepped out and gave the cover story.
OFFICER: Dammit.... eh, you get that evidence up to the station, we'll get to cleaning things up around here.
SEBASTIAN: Best of luck, it's a shame about those tapes, take it easy.. hope this doesn't get to you.
OFFICER: Don't worry about me sir, I signed up to respond to shit like this. Stay safe.
Sebastian slipped out of the apartment and looked at his watch, 5:45 AM. That didn't take as long as he had figured it would but he needed to get back to the Vila Paris Hotel quickly before anyone had the chance to slip anything. He hailed a taxi quickly and was out of there before the cleanup crew had even arrived.
##6:30 AM, Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest, Romania
Liana and Sebastian pulled into the courtyard quietly, Sebastian's men stood waiting to get their equipment from the lockers, Liana had the key, though had Emil's men been successful in silencing her that wouldn't have been the case. Sebastian glanced over all of the men and noticed none of the rats were among them, Emil must have recalled them to discuss further plan of action.
Liana unlocked the locker rooms and Sebastian stopped his men before they went on to their duties. They stood silently awaiting their orders for the day, most figured it must have been a drill day. Sebastian took off his shako and cleared his throat.
SEBASTIAN: Some of our own brothers have been staging a coup of the Palace, they've been tipped off by Emil Albescu, a murderous backstabber, and a communist wishing to send Romania back to it's Socialist regime. Many of us have fathers who fought and died in the Revolution, is this freedom the Revolution brought not what we deserve? Should we allow a communist to launch a coup and send this country back to it's old regime? Or will we stand up and prevent this coup from occuring? Who is with me?
Liana stepped by Sebastian's side, the other men stepped forward and gave salutes, they shouldered their rifles and awaited orders. Sebastian threw open the locker room door and his men made their way up the courtyard to the steps of the Palace and took defensive positions. For many this felt like the mock assault from last year, they were prepared for such events. A gunshot came from inside the Palace, Emil and his men were already inside.
Sebastian's forces burst through the doors and scrambled into the massive hallways, the inner guards who were at the door threw salutes and sprang into action as they followed Sebastian's forces towards the source of the gunshot. A guard lay dead, his blood painting the white marble floors crimson red. A machine gun sent bullets ringing down the hallway, Sebastian ordered his men to take defensive postions as Emil's forces came out of hiding and the two clashing forces exchanged fire.
Emil had tipped off most of the inner guard, any who didn't cooperate lay dead like the officer in the middle of the hallway. Emil came over the intercom and laughed maniacly.
EMIL: So you figured it out? You survived my attempt on your life Sebastian, and because of that you've complicated things. I'm sorry to tell you that you're a bit late, I've got President Iohannis' location and my men are making their way there now. This coup was inevitable, with Europe in chaos someone had to step in and at least save Romania. Europe is crumbling, the people will want someone who can assure safety. That someone is me!
The intercom came off with a loud bang and the hallways of the Palace were in chaos. You could here the firefights between Loyalist and Emil's forces from upstairs and Sebastian had to get up there. He didn't think his uncle would prematurely launch his coup over this. But could he really act so surprised?
The gunfire on their level came to a halt, most of Emil's men had either fallen back to link with the upper level forces or they were killed in the exchange of gunfire. Sebastian's team suffered little casaulties and he made the call to push forward. They made it to the stairs before being stopped by the Emergency Response Team. Armed with full riot gear and automatic weapons the lead officer shouted orders.
OFFICER: Sebastian Albescu?!
SEBASTIAN: Aye... If Emil's bought you off end this now...
OFFICER: Get your ass up here, we are the last line of defense, most the upper level guard turned or got killed, hurry it up.
Sebastian led his unit up the stairs and shook hands with the Emergency Response Officer. He had a look of concern on his face and the upper halways were littered with bodies, bullet holes, and puddles of blood. This would be a day to live in infamy in Romania, the media must be going crazy right now. The Palace had been surrounded by Romanian Army reserves, you could see the IFVs through the windows and the occasional call for the surrender of those in charge of the coup.
The Emergency response team formed a line, their shields covereing across the entire hallway. The President and the Parliament were held up in a room just down the hallway and the gunfire got louder as they came within view of the Parliament hall. Emil's forces were desperately working to thin out the last loyalist guards and storm the room. The Emergency unit formed a line and Emil's forces opened fire. The shields were working, they were deflecting and stopping most of the small rounds that Emil's forces were throwing at them.
SEBASTIAN: Lay down you arms! It's over! The building is surrounded and you're outnumbered, give it up!
A bullet whized past him and he took cover behind the Emergency Response Unit. Enough was enough. The ERU drew their rifles and opened fire, the hail of bullets echoed down the hallways, man after man dropping in a spew of blood. The walls painted red and the floors flooding with blood. It was a quick mess but the hall was cleared.
Sebastian pushed through the ERU and led his team to the door, Sebastian kicked in the door and his forces entered the room. President Iohannis came from hiding behind his chair and was relieved to see the ERU. He recognized Locotenent-colonel Liana and smiled.
IOHANNIS: Locotenent-colonel, you've got a real knack at saving this Palace, from both fake threats and the real deal.
LIANA: President Iohannis, I haven't fired a shot... I'm so shaken. This was all Capitan Albescu's handy work.
IOHANNIS: Sebastian Albescu?
LIANA: Yes sir, here he is..
Liana stepped out of the way and presented Capitan Albescu to the President. The President extended his hand and smiled.
IOHANNIS: About damn time we met. I can't thank you enough for your quick action and successful execution of this son.
SEBASTIAN: Thank you Mr. President, where is Emil?
IOHANNIS: Please Sebastian, call me Klaus. Emil got out I suppose... He'll be tracked down, don't you worry. As for his supporters, I'd say you've taken out most of his internal support. Get you some medical attention, you look like a mess.
Sebastian hadn't even realized he'd taken a hit in the arm, he finally felt the blood trickling down his arm and he hesitently looked up. President Iohannis pat his shoulder.
IOHANNIS: It can't be too bad, get patched up but son your adrenaline got you this far. Locotenant-colonel get this man downstairs.
Liana gave a salute and led Sebstian down the hallway, he'd apparently lost a lot of blood because his vision was blurred, it was that or he was tearing up from all the carnage left over. Looking back at the door you could see the twisted, mangled corpses of Emil's goons. Arms shot clean off, stomachs ripped open. Further down the hall bullet riddled guards scattered accross the marble floors. The Army stormed the building once an all clear was called in and response teams were taking in those who were still alive to get them to the field hospital that was set up on the courtyard.
Some Army officers took Sebastian from Liana, she protested saying she would take him, after a brief argument she handed him over but kept with the officers. She was in tears watching Sebstian slowly losing conciousness. His wound was worse than the President had thought, his thick coat gave a false impression of how bad it was. Liana hoped he could keep the arm, she took off her shako and sat down once they reached the field hospital.
There were so many busy feet running around, bloodied doctors working desperately to figure out who was critical and who was grazed. Body bags lined the walkways, Liana wasn't looking forward to the news reports. Crowds gathered behind the Army's perimeter, people were shocked seeing the aftermath, this was all so sudden, so unexpected.
News helicopters were called off site as military medical helicopters began to circle the courtyards and take turns landing to take in injured soldiers and guards. Liana caught a glimpse of Sebastian being carried to one and she tried desperately to get on board but the soldiers loading wounded stopped her.
SOLDIER: Please, Locotenant-colonel, this helicopter is for the wounded, we need to get this taken care of as quickly as possible. You're in shock, take a seat and we will have someone examine you and get you help. It's over, just try and calm down.
Liana pleaded wanting to stay by Sebastian's side. She knew it was pointless to fight here, she finally gave in and returned to the field hospital. The doctors who weren't busy bandaging wounds and checking vitals brought her water and gave her an analysis. She was in shock but she would be fine. There wasn't much the doctors could do for her so they resumed to tending those in more need.
The day dragged on and Liana was debriefed by the Army Reserves, they took command of Palace security for the time being. Sebatian's unit was releaved of duty and commended for their actions. The following few weeks would be chaotic, investigations would be held and Emil would be hunted down along with any remaining support he still had. Knowing Emil he wouldn't face a trial, he'd take his own life before that happened.

##9:00 AM, Coltea Hospital, Bucharest Romania
Liana sat silently by Sebastian's side, he got to keep his arm, they'd gotten him to the hospital just in time. He was recovering though he'd be stuck in here for a few weeks, he took a nasty hit. Liana just smiled knowing he was alive and would be ok. A single tear streamed down her cheek as she watched over him. He'd been sleeping for a majority of the time he'd been checked in.
The news was fixated on the events at the Palace, the "Palace Massacre" as the reports called it. In total forty-five guards, twenty-three politicians, and ten civilians were killed over the course of the days events. Emil Albescu managed to get fifty gunmen involved, most acting as regular Palace visitors whenever the coup took place, he was also still at large though investigations were steadily ongoing.
The foiled coup was a relief to the Romanian people and President Iohannis was slated to make a public announcement on the days events soon, he'd also be addressing the global community welcoming international investigators to help track down Emil Albescu, who was being branded Romania's most wanted.
Liana gasped as she felt Sebastian's hand clasp hers. She looked over at him and smiled, maybe now things would be back on track for them. Sebastian was doing remarkably well mentally, considering everything that had happened... Alina Albescu was ruled a suicide, reason's largelly unknown, Silvia Albescu was to remain with her grandparents until Sebastian was released from the hospital, the bodies found in Liana's apartment were ruled a mysterious murder following a drug bust gone wrong. The police complained that their evidence went missing though they didin't know who to hold responsible. Liana had no idea Sebastian had burned the evidence bag, all she knew was she got her papers back.
SEBASTIAN: Hell of a day..... huh?.....
LIANA: Hell of a weekend....
She kissed Sebastian's forehead gently and layed on his good side. He gently and weakly wrapped an arm around her waist as he slipped back off to sleep. Hopefully this was the end for them, not so much an end as a new beginning. An end to the trouble, a beginning to a new chapter.
