My Mom Really Liked Painting With

My mom heard Golden Gal playing from my turntable down in the basement and thought it sounded pretty good, which led me to put on the whole record for her while she was doing her morning exercise bike workout. She seemed to really dig it, saying her favorites were Floridada, Vertical, Spilling Guts, Golden Gal, and Recycling. In her words, Vertical "had me going really fast" and Golden Gal "just has a great melody." 

Moral of the story is that while this record may not be MPP or SJ, its immediacy is one of its greatest strengths (a strength that no other AnCo record REALLY has IMO). I can see Painting With being a gateway album for lots of future fans. Play it for your parents, your kids, or your normie friends. Who knows, they may love it!
