New artist blog - copyright question.

I've been doing some personal research into a little known UK artist. I've compiled quite a bit of info and I was thinking about publishing it in a blog. Although he died over thirty years ago and didn't paint after 1945 can anyone help me with a copyright query?

Can I post pictures of painting that were done over 70 years ago to illustrate posts?
