How in god's name are you supposed to do the Mothership Support Gunner challenge?

I have 15 days played and I've only seen 2 motherships called in. I managed to get in the second one but I only got 2 kills. This just seems impossible. Does anyone have any idea how to possibly make it easier? It's one of my last few challenges for 100% multiplayer :(
