I want to see if my amps clip. Will someone with more know-how verify if this device will be safe to use.

I understand that I am looking for flat tops on the waveform. So my question is, will this device work, and do I have to have my speakers connected to perform this test? My Pyle amps have smoked another set of 15s. I verified the wiring is correct. I run them bridged, and am thinking about not running them bridged anymore.

On a side note, I am going to start rebuilding these speakers. Looks simple enough, and I think I can build a better speaker than what I purchased.
