How do you activate cloud saving for ffix IOS?

Probably a dumb question but I bought ffix on ios and have the game on my iPhone and iPad.

I also saved my game on a normal save file on my iPad but cloud data is still grayed out.

My iPhone and iPad are both linked on the same iCloud account and both logged in gamecenter

Did I miss something?
