Ran into someone I'm actively trying to court... while on a date with someone else. Oops.

About a month ago I met a guy on OKC I really, really like. Several dates, great chemistry, reciprocal communication, all that good stuff. Unfortunately he got really sick about two weeks ago. I invited him out last weekend and he said he wasn't up to it, so I told him to feel better and to call me when he was well. No biggie, right? We texted a little bit in the intervening week but didn't make plans.

Then last night, I went to get drinks with a guy from my social circle — not exactly as a date, but not exactly not-not — so I was prettied up. As we walk into the bar, the dude is there playing darts with his buddies. Ouch. We make polite chitchat for a minute, I grab a drink and go about my business, and say goodbye to him when I close up my tab. Radio silence since.

Neither of us did anything wrong, IMO — I do believe he was legitimately sick, and it's possible to be up for a quiet friend hangout and not a date — and as a single lady I'm free to go have drinks with whoever I want looking as pretty as I like.

BUT. Now I'm wondering how to approach it. One part of me is like "Pff, if he could drag his ass out for darts then he could've called a mama" and just stay quiet, but then a much louder part of me wants to proactively communicate, in a non-thirsty way, that I am still super interested but you can't expect a girl to put her life on hold.

So: to text or not to text? Help me Reddit it's been a long time since I liked anyone as much as I like this dude and I'm freaking out aahhhhhh.
