(17m) im giving up on trying to find a girlfriend, is that a bad thing?

Ive lived my whole life single, ive tried so many times to get find a girl but no success. i met this girl she is by far the most amazing chick ive ever met we get along very well and have good trust in one another but shes seeing someone so nothing will happen between us. shes a good friend and i enjoy her company although id like more, being good friends is better than nothing. so im not gunna bother investing more time in other people. im just too tired of being hurt by women im just done trying. i just cant handle it anymore its driven me to extreme depression.
