Ranger or Witch?

I've narrowed mains down to these two. I hear both classes have excellent AoE, and that Witch has better farming and mobbing from the get-go while ranger needs Evasive Shot or something at level 40 to be better at PvE. I plan to PvP on the side as well, mostly large scale sieges but some small skirmishes are inevitable for farming spots. Can one of you lovely people explain the pros and cons between the two, and maybe give a recommendation?
