Bluetooth causing wifi to disconnect frequently

Has anyone else had this issue? I like to have Bluetooth always on but was experiencing frequently dropping wifi connection in my house only with my phone. Other devices had no issues maintaining consistent connection. After hours of research and tinkering with the wifi router and upgrading the router firmware I decided to try turning off Bluetooth. The issues went away. I now use tasker to turn on/off Bluetooth in the middle of the night so my fitbit can sync but would be interested to hear if anyone else had this experience or have heard of any fixes.
