What Would You Like to See Differently in "Pixels?"

I just watched Pixels and while it was nothing memorable, I still thought it was OK (2.5 out of 5). I was just wondering why did it get so much hate? I thought, again, it was decent and not as bad as people made it out to be. Also, what could have been done to make Pixels better do you think?
