Best Bass for Jazz

so ive been playing in jazz for a while now. Ive started to get a ear for it more, and with that ive noticed how sharp my bass sounds, my amp is fine, other bassist have used it and said the settings are great so it has to be the bass. what is the best bass with a overall rich warm tone, that is the closes to an upright bass but at any moment can turn into a jaco/jeff berln type.
