Is nursing right for me?

I'm 44 years old, getting divorced after 20 years. I have 4 teenagers (50/50 custody) and have been a stay at home mom for 20 years.

I have been out of the workforce for so long. I love helping people and would like to find a career where I help people and make a living wage. I have time to go to school now, while I am receiving alimony/child support.

Am I too old to do this? Will it be too difficult?

I'd really appreciate your input.
