World Boss - NightShade

Hello, so yesterday i was doing a 24 man Hue boss fight and i didnt get the chest afterwards. Why is that? Was it because i didnt do enough damage or was it because there was already 24 people that hit him before me? I was with a party and the party got it but me.... Any reason? Was it because my damage was not high enough?
