The Eleventh Commandment

I feel like an idiot.

I just sent my loot in the DZ off on an extraction flight, when I notice that one of the half-dozen agents that also dropped stuff off is following me.

It's not the first time I've been stalked, but once we're away from people, my radar lights up with a hit of red, and a bullet smacks me.

I run for it, dive behind cover... But it was only one shot. One bullet. not enough for the rat to go Rogue. I figure it was probably a mistake, because the guy is already doing jumping jacks.

(Side Note: We have a 'hands up' emote. Why does Jumping Jacks signal 'Don't Shoot' to everyone?)

I turn and run again, getting away from the EZ. And then another bullet smacks me. For the first time I notice that the guy doesn't have a rifle out. It's his sidearm.

Right about there, it hits me what's going on; and I run for it. I take off full speed for the exit. Every five feet another bullet smacks me.

I've dealt with bullies most of my life. Rule Number One is: Do Not Engage!

I'm halfway to the exit when I finally snap. I'm an idiot. I spin around and fire a sticky bomb. It was meant as a show or force, to make him jump back, but he doesn't jump back. He jumps forward and keeps poking me. Only in video games do you prod someone with a bullet.

He's got the timing down perfectly. Just enough to keep bugging me, not enough to make the game realize this is deliberate.

So I pull the trigger. I'm Rogue.

And that's when he opens up with the whole magazine treatment. He fires off grenades and clips and devices so fast that there's no way he hasn't rehearsed this. Five seconds, and I'm waiting out the respawn clock.

Everyone out there who's as much a bully magnet as I am, learn from the example of my bullet ridden, slightly toasted corpse! Don't fall for the Greivers! Do Not Engage!
