Why does zoom suddenly want to not kill the flash?

Didn't he almost kill him, before Harry shot zoom with the needle thing and make him flee?

Iirc zoom beat the crap out of Barry then went to star labs to kill him infront of them, saying Harry made a costly mistake.

Now he wants to keep him alive for his speed? Why is zoom suddenly having a change of heart?
