Help me find a TKL with backlighting and media keys...going nuts.
So I have been using a Ducky shine 2 for the past 2 years. I want a TKL for gaming. I've been doing my research for a week or so and need your expert advice.
Switch type will most likely be brown. I'm used to them, I'm not a competitive gamer and they seem to have good middle ground, I had a BWU with blues years ago when I thought Razer made quality products but I dont remember the difference in switches. I play primarily FPS and RPG Adventure games, no MMO or MOBA going on here. If you care to recommend a new switch type please indulge.
I hate gimmicky gaming boards, I prefer the cleaner look. I would like to have multiple color RGB options but will accept one color if I have to. Media controls do not need to be dedicated, fn modifier is fine as long as I have the ability for volume control and mute.
So far I've come across these possible choices.
MX Disco- Not sure if media keys, waiting on response from MK.com, read somewhere a firmware update would provide them.
WASD Custom - I'm not sure if the custom designed boards have a white backlight like the code, it's unclear to me on their website. The other issue is I spend hours trying to design a board and just give up, I cant commit to any color scheme. It does have media keys.
KUL-87 - Looks like no media keys but the white case on black keys look sexy.
Corsair K65 - My least favorite option although I havent seen it in person. I dont like the way the bottom slopes as I will be using my own ducky leather wrist rest which lines up perfectly with most Traditional framed boards. Has lighting options and media keys but it looks too big at the top with that extra inch of frame where the media keys are placed.
CM novatouch - Looks overpriced to me but a nice sleek design, I tend to think I could get a better board for cheaper.
I havent looked much into Pok3r or other gaming brands because they usually suck or scream I need attention. Das does not have a TKL as far as I know. Why cant we just have ducky shine TKL's?
Can anyone chime in with some more suggestions?
