How EXACTLY do you update Xmage?

whenever there is a new version, my xmage simply tells me to download the new version.

Causing you to go to the website an download the launcher file, which then re-installs Java and xmage.

Which also causes you to re-download 25,000 images.

there is a workaround for the images, you copy the images folder, store it in another place on your computer, save it, then xmage->preferences-> Browse for Images in the other folder.

Still I'm simply missing if there is an "update" button that doesn't involve complete re-installation from the start.

EDIT: Solved I guess. Always use the launcher something like "XMageLauncher-0.3.4"

I was launching the game from the startClient file from the mage-client folder. If you move the xmage folder and use the launcher, it searches for the xmage folder and if it can't find it, depending on where the launcher is located, starts to download the game all over again. Just a heads up.
