Just my luck

So I'm a FTHB and wanted to thank everyone here for all the help you have provided me all along this process.

I have ran into a few issues along the path, and I must admit my frustration levels have never been higher. They started with my lender requesting me to send the same document repeatedly. However I was prepared for that!

What I was not prepared for was his assistant sending me a document in an unsecured email that had some of my super personal information in it. (SS#).

I kinda went off on the lending company. They have agreed to pay for an identity monitoring service for a year. They've also apologized many times. They now send all emails via an encrypted mail client (which is perfect).

Then I get to this morning. And I realize this may be a huge coincidence butttttt, this morning my bank called me to alert me to possible fraud on my ATM card.

Turns out someone pulled $800 out of my account, and they actually tried to get about 2k. I obviously had the card canceled and a new one issued. I can't initiate a fraud investigation until the money actually clears my account (I imagine that will happen Monday).

I am more confused because I have my ATM card in my possession. Card was used in Philly. I live in NC. My only guess is that someone cloned my card somehow. I can't even begin to imagine how they got my pin.

So I'm obviously going to check all of my other credit cards but I must admit I'm baffled how this happened. I'm also not going to jump to any conclusions about how this happened.
