Sharp difficulty jump at Begreep?

I played the tutorials and the first few missions last night and got past the first grav lock portal thing. Man, Begreep has me flipping tables left and right. I really like this game and a lot of what it has going on. But there are definitely some gripes about how to skill up and automate.

Anyone else feel the same?

I've looked around for some General Tips-type articles or strategy guide but so far haven't come up with much. Best I've seen is a 4-player co-op on YouTube. It's a shame the game isn't more popular. I really want to love it as much as I love Terraria and Factorio (which are the games that remind me most NNG).

For more specific info: On Begreep I have been trying to harvest from the nearby house with all the robots in the attic. I set up an oxygen flower on the lowest level but need to figure out a conveyor system to get ingredients over to my base. I'm trying to focus on the bisausage because of the big rewards for using it (10% market). But they're spread out and I can only carry 2 of their drop, the rest de-spawn by the time I get back. And the competition is slowly but surely grinding me under their heel.

tl;dr - I suck at this game. Halp!
