Owners of Volkswagen Golf GTD's 2009-Onward.

Second attempt at asking this question.

I live in the UK and am looking at getting a Golf GTD from 2009-2012. I am wondering a few things about this car before I start working towards purchasing one and I figured you guys might be able to help with some questions I have.

1. Fuel consumption, what sort of range am I looking at in MPG? (Never owned a deisel.)

2. What are they like on shorter journeys? Will the DPF cost me over a period of time? (I do estimated 9000 miles a year.)

3. What are they like for performance (how do they drive)?

4. How reliable are these cars? Can I fix them myself? Will I be forking over tonnes of money to a garage to fix it?
