Best places to dive for newly certified divers?

I just tried out scuba diving for the first time at the Outdoor Adventure Show. It is tons of fun and I'm looking at getting certified in the near future.

At the show I picked up tons of brochures on diving destinations. I'm wondering what is the best place to go diving for the first time? Suggest a place or share your first diving experience! Thanks.
