[MODPOST] Poland
There is a nuance that must be realized this season. The entity of a nation does not change automatically because the player behind it has changed. If a player you like claims a nation you are hostile towards, this does not mean that you are automatically friendly with the nation you were hostile towards. This is something that must be realized and understood.
A nation with no semblance of government, whose entire government has been disbanded, does not rebuild a government overnight. It does not go from complete chaos to a nation that can be recognized as stable in the span of 2 months. Even if you really like the player playing that nation.
We warned those involved to not let these lines of meta be blurred, but you blurred those lines anyways. In less than a day, Poland a nation that had been partitioned and divided up to regional powers, was one again reunified under a single government. Because of this, the moderators launched an investigation into the situation.
And what we found was several clear cases of metagaming.
First of all, let us be clear. Conversations that occur in meta, on the IRC or anywhere else, should never influence IC actions. This is a line that we will not be allowed to be blurred. If you want something to happen, you must have the discussion IC on the subreddit. We have received evidence that this rule was broken in regards to the Poland Crisis, and we are acting accordingly.
Secondly, if you blur the lines between meta and IC in your actions, you may rest assured that we will happily clear those situations up for you.
Because of the results of our investigation we are taking the following actions:
Poland's situation will revert back to what it was when irk first ascended to the claim. It is still partitioned by the 4 parties of Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Denmark.
irk, AidanJan, and Fewbuffalo will receive 1 strike.
irk and AidanJan will be banned for 24 hours.
