How do you counter Vega's Izuna Drop/Slash in SFV?

I'm playing as Birdie, and all I've run into against Vega is Izuna Drop abuse due to Birdie not having a proper response. I've tried just crouching, but I can still get grabbed and slashed for easy damage. It seems like it's insanely better than in SFIV. How do I beat it?
