Darkscape Rant

Long Rant, May seem incoherent to some and completely logical to others but the point is that it's my personal opinion (a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.)

The beginning:

I've been playing Darkscape since release and still do play frequently and have seen many things come out of it. I was incredibly hyped about this release just like many of my friends who saw great potential in a runescape server that featured open pvp and an advanced smuggling system, and just like my friends i came over from RS3 in a way to escape the pointless riskless grind to something unique. In my mind i saw this as something that would define these servers and bring about a substantial change to what we saw runescape as. This, in my mind, was the ultimate reincarnation of Runescape and What all the previous 15 years of Runescape would ultimately lead up to. I started playing on day 1 and was hooked to literally everything about darkscape; the community, the pvp system, the smuggling (yes the smuggling, although it wasn't perfect it differentiated darkscape from all its predecessors), Clan rivalry, unsafe skilling all of these factors attributed darkscape as a game meant for the elite gamers. Even my favorite runescape youtuber, A Friend, played it! I remember buying a poly stick off him and trying to kill him afterwards.

This happiness continued for a long ass time i enjoyed every minute of Darkscape and the epicosity that came with it but do you know what potentially deteriorated Darkscape? (besides A Friend stopping his Darkscape vids) =======> Removing Smuggling.

Now you're like Smuggling?! but that stinked so much that it made me want to quit! let me explain, the idea of smuggling wasn't the problem, it was the execution and time put into perfecting this system. Smuggling was rushed and wasn't carefully thought out because of our small development team and because one of our mod's took a vacation which crippled our updates severely. The small dev team shouldn't be blamed entirely because something as incomplete as the smuggling system we started with shouldn't have been released in the first place. A game like this needs to have a solid foundation to build upon otherwise everything starts crumbling hence the removal of smuggling. I could give my suggestions here but this isn't the time or place to do that. Maybe 5 months ago but now it's too late for that.

Even now when Darkscape is slowly deteriorating in player numbers i continue to play in hopes that Darkscape magically starts gaining popularity and attraction and i promise to be here until the day Darkscape shuts down because i don't know how to get a life.

Edit 1: Thanks for the comments, i read them all and happy to know that alot of you agree with me. I really want to know the opinion of those that downvoted my post so we can see the differences in opinion or maybe learn a bit as to why You (4th wall break!) Yes you on the other side of the monitor i'm talking to you! think that this game isn't reaching it's maximum potential. Feel free to comment whatever negativity or uneasiness you have, or if you don't think the game isn't being affected at all post a comment. I'll read all the comments.
