Could the Undiscovered Egg Group be the solution to the IV discussion?

What is an Undiscovered Egg Group? For those who don’t know, the Undiscovered Egg group consists of Legendary Pokemon (minus Manaphy, because Phione is created by breeding with Manaphy), Unown, and baby Pokemon (and for some reason, Nidorina and Nidoqueen). The Undiscovered egg group cannot breed with any Pokemon, so they are much harder to get a competitively viable one, and as a result, in generation 6 (X and Y, things work a bit different in ORAS), they gave Pokemon in this group a nice little boost. When you obtain them by catching them or receiving them as a gift from an NPC, they are guaranteed 3 perfect IVs.

Why can't we just use breeding for good IVs? It really seems like this subreddit doesn’t want breeding in it, and for perfectly understandable reasons, so I’m going to assume in this post that breeding is not in the game, but I feel that IVs should be. IVs have been in the game since the first generation, with only minor tweaks from the beginning to now. This game, if it has a robust battling system, should be no different.

So what would you do, then? What could be done about IVs in this game, is simply treat them the same as Undiscovered Egg Group and give them 3 perfect IVs right off the bat. Add on top a Pokemon with Synchronize, and you have the ability to fairly quickly get a Pokemon with a good spread and the correct nature. I found a post online talking about this sort of thing here.

As was said in the post above, the chances of getting your desired spread with 3 perfect IVs is 1/18, chance of getting the desired nature with Sync is 50%, the chance of getting both together is 1/36. This makes getting a fairly competitive within reach for anyone who wants to put in the time, and if you look at the other stats on the link I’ve posted, if someone wants to go for an insane Pokemon (6IVs with the proper nature), it’s much more within reach (1/65,536) than it was before (1/2,147,483,648).

It seems that this subreddit wants people to be on a fairly even playing field when it comes to battling, but it also seems like they don’t want a completely watered down game insofar as mechanics. This has lead to a huge amount of people saying they want IVs completely removed from the game, but nobody can say how they want stats to be handled at that point. I think this keeps the heart and soul of Pokemon in mind, while allowing people who have actually done competitive battling in the past to know what they’re working with in this new game.

I’d love to hear some feedback. What are your thoughts on this idea? Sorry if any of this is hard to understand, I threw it together really quickly from an idea I got from a post I read earlier today.
