A Farewell to RossVDebs

Friends and comrades, I come to you with a heavy heart and some sad news. u/RossVDebs has left the Socialist Party after many months of service and sacrifice. The reasons for this departure are that, according to him, the Socialist Party has made alliances with capitalist parties and has become itself a social democratic party. In addition, it has cheated and lost much of the honesty and integrity it should possess.

I find myself agreeing with the latter reason and not the former: Many great socialist parties have made alliances with capitalist parties in the past, a political move which, in my opinion, can be justified as long as it is temporary. His second point, however, is, in my opinion, perfectly valid: Electoral fraud can never be justified, and any socialists who did indeed knowingly commit electoral fraud should be deeply ashamed.

I stress that the above opinions are just that, opinions, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the party as a whole. Regardless of whether comrades agree or disagree with the above points, I think and hope that we can be unanimous in saying this:

RossVDebs was our comrade. He was a good man with good intentions who worked tirelessly for the betterment of the lives of the oppressed, the suffering, and the meek. He stood for liberation of all oppressed classes, races, sexualities, and genders, and was and is a socialist through and through.

Comrade, I hope the Socialist Party strives to emulate what you stood for, and I hope the Socialist Party can recognize that it does indeed have flaws and issues that need to be addressed. I also hope that, even though you are now gone, you will continue to do your part to serve the good of the people, as we all should.
