It all went south so fast...
Around 5 or 6 of my regulars were chatting it up last night and having a good time. I died in the game I was playing, so decided to try out a different one. While loading up the second game, it crashed, I couldn't really click anything for a few minutes.
During this time I notice my bot is timing people out and purging messages left and right. It was a raid! 35-50 people... and my bot timed them all out for their all CAPS raid message. The streamer who hosted me is one of the ones I look up to a lot and he chose me to host last night, in the middle of a shit storm which then became more of a shit storm thanks to ankhbot and then twitch alerts for not working. I received 4 new followers from it, but feel it would have been much more had ankhbot, twitch alerts and Skyrim not all bent me over the barrel at the same time. I mean another positive is I had a consistent 30+ people for 20-30 minutes before it petered off to around 18-20 the rest of the night, still a great turn out compared to my usual 6-10.
But I can't help but feel like a great opportunity was missed to gain some more followers and potential concurrents. Probably over thinking it all, but thought I would share my "woe is me" tale.
