Upcoming Reddit Contests (MLB & March Madness)
Hey Everyone.
Most of you may recognize me from organizing the Reddit Survivor NFL Contest, as well as our weekly NBA contest.
I'm excited to announce that I have a few pools that I'll be running over the next 2 months. For March Madness, I will be running a regular bracket pool, that is 25 an entry. Unlimited participants for that, and unlimited entries, so once the brackets are released, I will send another email out to everyone regarding that.
The 2nd March Madness pool I am running is a spread pool. It is 50 dollars per entry. The way this works is simple. We will have 64 contestants for the 64 teams in the tournament. Each contestant will randomly be assigned a team. Then the winner is determined by the spread. For example, Jon Smith gets Oklahoma and Jane Smith gets Monmouth University. Oklahoma is favored by 22 points in the first round against Monmouth, and wins by 19 points. Jane wins the matchup and advances, because Monmouth covered the spread. She then inherits Oklahoma and their spread for the 2nd round matchup. This continues through the finals. This pool is 50 dollars per entry, and as I mentioned is limited to only 64 entries. You are allowed UP TO 4 entries in this pool, and for anyone with multiple entries, I will make sure that they are in different brackets, so at worst you don't have 2 teams meet until the final 4. My buddy ran this pool in the past, and I am taking over for him, so there are some spots already taken, so if you are interested in this particular pool, we are taking the reservations first come first serve starting now for it.
For MLB, we will be having a similiar type tournament as NBA. Tentatively, it will take place on Tuesdays, but I will be looking into the schedule more closely. This contest will be the same as NBA as we will do the standings based on points of where you finish, and will be 25 dollars. This contest will have either 50, 75, or maximum of 100 people, depending on interest.
The last contest I will be running is a 13 run pool. This contest is 50 per person, and is limited to 30 people total. Each person will be randomly given an MLB team. The first person who's team finishes each game with the amount of runs from 0-13 wins the pot. Example, Joe Smith gets the Padres. On opening day, they get shutout, so he gets credit for 0. Day 2 they score 5 runs, so he crosses 5 off. On day 3, they get shut out again, so he doesn't get anything to cross off. First team to cross off 0-13 wins.
If you have any questions, please post them here and I am happy to answer them. If you would like to reserve your entry in any of these tournaments, please send me a direct message and let me know which one you will be participating in as well as your email address. Remember, besides the regular march madness pool, the other 3 have a limited number of entrants.
I already have some spots reserved and paid for in each contest, and we will be reserving them first come first serve, so don't hesitate to message me.
Thanks guys!
Kevin
