Is it me or are Yorgos Lanthimos' film endings sorta weak?

Both films I've seen from the guy (Dogtooth and The Lobster) have had some rather abrupt, vague endings, at least from my viewpoint. As much as I've enjoyed them, this is just something that's caught me a little off guard.

Really just seeking out a second opinion. What do you guys think?
