What's the best way to buy a bands music?

Do bands get more money for physical records compared to digital downloads? We are experiencing some legendary shit (ATB and Adept both made absolute killers) and I want to support the best way I can. Usually I buy vinyl but adept doesn't have any so I'm just curious.
