MMO veteran trying to understand what BDO has to offer

So i have heard about Black Desert Long ago but i didn't care so much because there were other games to play.

Now that the game is about to come out, i was thinking about trying it out, but i have done some research on Reddit and i saw way too many negative points of the game and only a few positive ones.

If i have understand correctly;

• This game is a B2P game with a expensive cash shop;
• Costumes and dyes are almost a must if you wanna look better than a piece of shit with legs and arms;
• Gear > Skill (at least pretty much all the topics i have read about agreed on this subject);
• There won't be a open beta, if i wanna try the game i have to buy it;
• There are no Raids nor Dungeons, so the game is not for PvE lovers;

And the only really good thing i have seen was the awesome World PvP and something that looked like a Castle Siege (I might be wrong)

So basically this game is a PvP focused game with a B2P + expensive Cash shop?
