Laptop/tablet convertible

Valid Form

EDIT: Whoops didn't do a form. Not so good at reading I guess.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • Country of purchase: USA

  • Budget range: $500-1000

  • Purpose (netbook, ultraportable, mainstream, gaming, desktop replacement, etc.): Mainstream I guess?

  • Screen size preference: Not super important, but probably at least 9" minimum.

  • OS preference (Windows/Mac/Linux): Windows

  • Gaming requirements (list example games and desired fps/settings): Not needed

  • Other performance requirements (video editing, CAD, etc.):PDFs, KG-Chart

  • Portability requirements (constantly carried, frequently moved, mostly stationary, etc.): Something good for sitting on a couch.

  • Brand preferences and reasons (already owned accessories, familiarity, business compatibility): No preference

  • Any particular style that you like (examples are great): Types that can convert into a tablet would be preferable, whether by detaching something or doing that folding thing that some do.

Which of the following qualities would you prefer? (Choose one or two)

  • Long battery life -vs- Low weight -vs- High performance: Long batter Life and Low Weight

  • Build quality -vs- Low price: Build Quality

List any critical features: Good keyboard, some kind of tablet-like functionality.

Which features would you pay a premium for? (eg. high resolution screen, great keyboard/touchpad/audio, low noise/heat): Tablet stuff. Also high quality and low heat.

Hi all, my girlfriend is looking for a good laptop mainly to be used for readin' PDFs (comics) and using this program KG-Chart which she uses for cross-stitching. She wants it to ideally be one of those ones that can switch between bein' a laptop and a tablet in one way or another, cause tablet would be nice for reading but she needs a keyboard and a standup display for the cross-stitching thing, and also reddit and whatnot. I should mention she does have a regular desktop for gaming and heavier tasks, she just wants something to use on the couch. That said she's willing to spend up to $1000 to get somethin' nice that'll ideally last a while.

So in summary, she's looking for something that:

  • Can turn into a tablet in some way, for easy reading

  • Has a proper keyboard and can act like a regular laptop, for browsing and cross-stitch program-using.

  • Will last for a fair amount of time, ideally.

Thanks!
