5th Edition: Regarding stat points and sub races

D&D noob here with a question about character creation. I was wondering if the race and sub-race ability score increases stack? For example, do I get both the +2 to dexterity (elf traits) an +1 (wood elf traits) to wisdom if I choose the wood elf sub race? I want to make sure I have my character built correctly.

Thanks a bunch!
