Can you live out of a call-room?

-Serious post-

Conversation during a resident get together last night lead to talk of the feasibility of living out of a call-room in order to save money on rent. Are there ACGME rules against this? Are there standard hospital policies against this? One would assume the money saved would help make dents in student loans early or possibly fund other fun activities to help with wellness. How it would work in our hospital would be that you would crash in one of the many surgery on-call rooms by badge access and use an OR locker to store your valuables (laptops, medication, documents). You can leave larger items that you would need access to with friends. Also make friends with custodial staff as you are somewhat inconveniencing them a bit. Essentially it becomes, free parking, utilities, rent, wifi, tv, food (access physician's lounge), AC, heating, laundry, room cleaning service.

What would possibly prevent this from working other than possibly looking shameful?
