Looking at going to University of Alberta for a PhD. Husband in specific field, advice?

I'm looking to come from California to Alberta for my PhD in Education. My husband would, of course, come with me for this, but he has a Masters degree in Meteorology. I can't find any jobs on any sites that would be in his field and I don't know how he would work in Canada. Does anyone have any advice for a potential immigrant from the south?
