Snow Wednesday: question

I'm flying in from Baltimore for work Wednesday morning and I'm seeing forecasts of 3 to 5 inches.

I have to drive to Peoria and back. How does Chicago/IL handle snow? Marylanders suck shit at driving in it and the state sucks at clearing it.

Thoughts?

EDIT: thanks for those with useful info. The forecast appears to be way less now. Down to about an inch. Should be no problem.
